A pleasant short walk brings you to the main springs, leading through the forest and the maze of small lakes and streams, all filled with the crystal clear water bubbling straight out of the earth.
Pupu Springs are holy to the Maori and therefore should not be touched – but you really only need your eyes there, anyway.
The most
fascinating spot is where the path opens to give visitors a view over
the largest of the pools, offering a beautiful insight into the magic
turquoise-blue underwater world.
